Pavement said you can never quarantine the past. The past is dynamic; it's fluid. This is even more true when it comes to music.
In scientific terms, sound-waves are fragile things that easily dissipate. They require a medium through which to be transmitted, a sound source that can propagate the vibrations, and a listener who can hear the sounds at that frequency.
Music, likewise, cannot exist without a community to support it and a historical context to inspire its vibrations.
So, i'm here illuminate this, to de-quarantine the past.
